Description: Operation Homefront's Critical Financial Assistance program helps military families address critical financial shortfalls. Most often, this means assistance with mortgage payments, rent, utilities, car repairs, home repairs, overdue bills, critical baby items, and groceries.
Homes on the Homefront - The HOTH program provides veterans with the opportunity to move into an Operation Homefront (OH) home and work directly with OH caseworkers and other financial counselors to learn and plan for home ownership. Veterans accepted into the HOTH program include honorably discharged or retired veterans and service members currently serving in the National Guard or Reserves. After successful completion of the program the veteran receives the deed to the home, mortgage-free.
Rent-Free Transitional Housing Program Operation Homefront's Transitional Housing Program allows these service members to live rent free while they go through the transition process. Upon placement, Operation Homefront counselors set up a mandatory schedule that these service members, veterans, and their families must follow. They are required to attend support groups, workshops, benefits briefings, and resume writing classes, as determined by their counselor. They also undergo one-on-one financial counseling to reduce debt and build savings.
Transitional Homes for Community Reintegration Our THCR program serves veteran families who are within 12 months of discharge, served honorably, and are willing to work towards self-sufficiency by providing temporary rent-free housing, financial education, and support services.
