Oh my goodness! Where do I start with all the happenings? Well, first, let me apologies for my absence. When business comes my way its seems to come in down pours. 😉😂
My first reason for not posting was having to rearrange my house cleaning schedule because my schedule had changed. The good news is that it didn’t take as much this time to adjust it.
My second reason was Prom! Lol, not my prom, but my middle daughter, Lil’ Bit, had her Junior prom. I had to do some somewhat easy but still extensive alterations to her dress.
My third reason is because my Town job expanded. Not that its much, it’s perfect for me though, as it is a job I love and it pays for my feed as an extra bonus. 😃
On to Lil’ Bit’s Dress!
As you can see the dress was very pretty, but also did not fit correctly. The dress was far too long for Lil’ Bit who’s only 5’2″ tall. The bodice was a bit too showy for our tastes and the slit was way too far up.
We closed up the bodice and followed the lines of the bodice to have a cohesive look. We made the slit more modest and took out the need to worry of sudden oops when dancing and sitting. I also did two darts on the inside of the waist band to help better sit (and not fall) on her tiny waist and shortened the back tie strings. I used the same decorative stitching in the hem line as well. Lil’ Bit’s dress was very pretty but on the plain side…. she loved the simple addition of the stitching.
She loved the dress when I was done. Her favorite part of the dress? Pockets! What girl doesn’t love it when a designer remembers a girl needs pockets too?! 💕 Prom was fun and they all had a blast here in our small town.
Blessings from my Home to Yours,
